Yoga has been around for thousands of years, and it hasn’t always been just about the pose. The poses, or asanas, used during physical yoga practices can increase flexibility, improve balance and coordination, and in some cases, increase strength. Yoga as a whole is an incredibly beneficial practice that is safe and accessible for most people. There’s a lot that goes on in our yoga class—concentration, breathing, bending, twisting, and inverting—it requires complete engagement of the mind, body, and heart. We believe that Yoga is not a destination but a journey towards a better & healthier body as well as mind.
Mastery of the asanas is not the goal of the practice, it is the result of it. While there is a lot to learn, discover and explore in the tradition of yoga, it is best to start simple and not be overwhelmed.
Initial steps include teaching children to breathe, to be able to sit in proper postures, to enhance concentrate and focus, to relax the mind and a few basic yoga sequences and postures.
